Travis Ferguson - Club Director and 15 Red Coach

Coach Ferguson has been involved with the sport of volleyball as a player and coach for over 2 decades.  He began playing club volleyball in California as a twelve year old and continued as a high school and Division 1 collegiate athlete.  He was named the California State Player of the Year in 1992 and went on to play at UC San Diego and Cal State Northridge, after training with the Junior National Team in 1992.  Travis coached varsity girls and boys volleyball near Los Angeles for 10 years before moving to Texas in the summer of 2005.  He has coached numerous scholarship athletes and currently teaches English at Rockwall-Heath High School.

 

 

Nicholas Gay - 14 Red

Coach Gay played 4 seasons at Texas Tech University as a setter/libero. He was named 2nd Team All Big 12 setter as a senior. Nick graduated from Tech with a degree in marketing.  While in Lubbock Nick coached the Texas Power 15 Team that finished 3rd in the Sun County Region and later assisted the Texas United 17 Team that qualified for nationals.

 

 

 

 

Tommy Thomas - 13 Red

Coach Thomas earned his Bachelors Degree from Southwestern Assembly of God University.  He spent 12 years as the head varsity volleyball coach at Rockwall Christian Academy, amassing an impressive with 250 victories during that tenure. Tommy also coached 4 seasons of club volleyball with Ignite International. Coach Thomas has owned and operated his Construction Masonry Business in the Rockwall / Dallas area for over 25 years.

 

 

Sarah Amidon - 17 Red

Coach Amidon recently completed her first year of collegiate coaching with Western Illinois University as the Grad Assistant after graduating from Indiana State University in 2006. As a Right Side/Middle Hitter with the Sycamores, Amidon was a four-year starter who held career averages of 2.11 kills per game with a .255 hitting percentage, the sixth-best in ISU history. As a senior, she finished the season as the active career-leader in kills with 621 and blocks with 168. She received First Team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honors for maintaining a 4.0 GPA in Communication Studies (minor in Psychology). Part of a tour Bring It Promotions to Europe where she competed with other college players in Prague, Czech Republic. Two high school club seasons with Unlimited led to Junior Olympic National Championship Bronze Medals in 2001 & 2002.

 

 

Kelly Johnson - 14 Blue

Coach Johnson grew up in Oklahoma and recently moved to Rockwall after graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.  Kelly started playing volleyball in grade school and began club ball at 13.  She played for Oklahoma Wind and Oklahoma Force until she was 17.  As a three year varsity player at her high school Kelly helped take her team to state each year and made the all-state team her senior year.

 

 

 

Kayla Hanzelka - 15 Blue


Coach Hanzelka brings 3 years of coaching experience with her to Impact.  After spending one season with a small private club, she coached for two seasons with TAV in Fort Worth.  Kayla played on scholarship at Texas A&M University Commerce from 2001 to 2004. While at Commerce she set an individual record as the #6 All-Time Digs Leader and was recognized on the Academic All Lone Star Conference Team during the 2003 and 2004 seasons.  She graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources in May of 2005 and is currently working on a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

 

 

Samantha Zentz - 15 Blue

Coach Zentz played volleyball at Texas A&M Commerce University for four years while pursuing her degree.  During that time she coached club at TAV in Fort Worth for two seasons.  She has a Bachelor of Science Degree and currently works for KPMG LLP in recruiting.
